About Us

The use of Light Gauge Steel technology in the construction industry offers significant commercial advantages over traditional methods. Speedfloor remains committed to the development and world wide use of innovative and cost effective floor systems.

In 1997 Speedfloor was introduced to the market in New Zealand. Full scale structural and fire testing was complete and the new rollformed joist was installed in the first project in downtown Auckland.

In 2003 the company was purchased by the developers of the product from the Sullivan Haddon Group and set up franchised installers throughout New Zealand.

In 2004 Speedfloor Australia was established and a manufacturing plant was commissioned in Melbourne.

The product continued to grow globally and in 2005 a franchise was purchased for the USA. The Speedfloor suspended concrete floor system has now been used in Ireland, Canada, USA mainland, Hawaii, Tahiti and Samoa.

In 2010 Howick Ltd became a share holder in Speedfloor Ltd and new products were added including the Speedfloor Steel joist system and the Transportable Concrete floor. The continued global growth of the suspended concrete floor would add projects in Ireland, Virgin Islands, Honduras, Brazil, The Cayman Island and South Africa.

A License to manufacture and a Speedfloor Rollformer was purchased by Jindal Power and Steel. They would become the exclusive supplier of Speedfloor products in this region.
